My interest in learning Dutch largely stems from following the mighty oranje since the mid-80's with the AC Milan connection. I still have a wearable '88 shirt. ( My wife wears it ) I've picked up bits + pieces of Dutch along the way and it was a thrill to be able to use it recently in the Heineken House at the Olympics. ( the dutch should have got another gold medal for bringing that to Sydney ) I'm not sure how impressed they were at having a half drunk Australian screwing with their beloved language but they understood me and seemed semi-amused, so I'm leisurely learning dutch + German and it would be good to have a forum to practise in.
