| Comments | : | I am a 27-year an studied
of English and literature at the University of Zagreb, about to graduate this year.
Croatian is my mother tongue and the level of my German is upper-intermediate. My
minor is Swedish and literature and I'm in the second year now. Last semester I took
a course in Dutch with a Dutch teacher and I am currently in the second semester.
The book we have been using is Code Nederlands 1 and we have just finished the 5th
lesson. I have visited the Netherlands many times, especially in the past few years. I had no problems communicating with people, especially because a great majority of people in the Netherlands speak English. But I still wish to study it at least so that I can read it and use it - maybe to translate. Since I also speak German and some Swedish, I couldn't help noticing the irresistible similartiy with vocabulary, which is encouraging when beginning to learn a new language. There are very few people in Croatia who speak Dutch. |
