Comments : Myself and my partner have a dream to relocate to the Netherlands as soon as we are able. That could mean in a year or two - but hopefully something will come up sooner.

We have both have spent many weekends and longer breaks in Holland over the last 10 years, and it's a love affair calling out for more permanency.

Moreover, we are both fed up to the back teeth of the UK Government's and commerce's negative effects on the country and its people who, as a result, are generally selfish, unfriendly and take great pleasure in moaning about things but never doing anything about them.

I could talk about the more day to day displeasures of transport, commuting, the cost of living, disenchanted public service workers, the naff and shallow London scene and a whole host of other things - suffice it to say that the people and culture of Holland are more appealing and more welcoming to us as foreigners than the UK ever will be to us two born and bred Englishmen. It's bizarre.

My sister may relocate to Amsterdam for at least 6 months from March 2001, and I am hoping that if she does, I may either work with her, or stay with her and look for work in situ - either probably ahead of my partner.

Aside from being interested in learning Dutch through resources such as this (fantastic) web site, I'm also looking for people to practice with in London, maybe people to visit (and practice with) when I'm in Holland, and making contact with possible friends, potential business partners and likely employers.
