Comments : I have lived with my Dutch girlfriend for 9 years now. I hear the language spoken every day and I have to speak it on a weekly basis. We also have Dutch television via satellite which we watch every day.
On top of this I am always teaching myself new words and sentence structures as well as plenty of reading of Dutch magazines, web sites etc.
My girlfriend says I'm fluent but she's just being nice!
