Comments : Hello, I have just moved to the Southern area of the
Netherlands (Bergeijk - near Eindhoven)from California. I
have only been here three weeks and have been studying every-
day on my own via internet and self-study books. I can read
some Dutch, but of course, it is all preliminary. I speak
fluent Italian, minimal French and adequate Spanish. My
partner is German and he speaks fluent English and German,
so his learning curve will undoubtedly be a lot better than
mine. We will be here for three years (or more), so I'm sure
I'll learn, but I'm very impatient to start now so that I
too can return to work and communicate with the Dutch in
their native tongue as well. The biggest problem I'm having
is that everyone here speaks English quite well and are very
happy to communicate with me in my language!
