Comments : I work as a Radio Broadcast Assistant/Producer in the Music Department at BBC Scotland, and speak French and German (although not necessary for work!).

My partner's Dutch, and my interest in learning the language is purely as a hobby and with a view to being able to communicate with and understand his family and friends when we visit Holland. Although everyone there seems to speak such good English, I'd like to make the effort in the opposite direction.

I've never heard of the Learn Dutch organisation, and found it while searching for places I could learn Dutch in Scotland. I'd been thinking about attending an evening education class ... perhaps it's the best way to introduce myself to the language in the first instanct?

My knowledge extends to a few words and phrases.
