I became interested in learning
dutch about one year ago. I have a few dutch friends who, like most Nederlanders,
speak nearly perfect English. I love the sound of their language and want to learn
to speak it. There is basically zero interest in learning Dutch in the U.S. and I
really want to find other non-native speakers of Dutch with whom to learn and find
support. Ik leer graag Nederlands maar het is nogal moeilijk hoor! As for my knowledge
level, it's hard for me to characterize. I can count, know all basic colours, can
construct simple and compound sentences, but complex sentences with subordinate and
independent clauses are beyond me. My vocabulary is rather small, and I do not know
very many past tense werkwoorden. My speech recognition is rather weak as well. I
have only a few audio tapes. |
