Comments : My father was Dutch, married to my southern mother. We spent many years both in Europe (germany) and United States but never learned the Dutch language fluently. My regret, for now my parents are deceased and his remaining siblings are in Holland and I correspond with them, they speak no ENglish. I have a translator which helps me communicate in their language and my Dutch is limited, I wish I had learned the language but my parents did not enforce it in our home for my mother was American. I was born in the same house, same bed, in Utrecht, Holland, as my father and I wish I spoke his language............... I know it can be a difficult language to learn but I would love to try.
