Comments : I am a non-traditional student in history at West Virginia University. I am writing my dissertation on seventeenth-century New York Dutch women in the period when the colony changed from New Netherland to New York. Many of the sources I run across are in Dutch, both modern and seventeenth-century. Many of the sources are not translated into English. I am writing my dissertation now and would like to learn as much Dutch as possible in the fastest time possible, but am well aware of my limitations. I sincerely hope joining the group will aid in that goal.
