Here it, read it in Dutch if I don't understand, and if I still don't understand, then read it in English. The pictures are helpful too. I began last year in the ROC Nederland Taal Cursus here in Almere. After 2 quarters of aggravation, tears, disgust, etc. I dropped out to try and learn on my own. I did exceptionally well on the tests -(99% due to what I had learned on my own) but I do not pick up what people are saying which is the most important thing. If you have any suggestions for a classroom program in my area that uses your techniques, I would very much welcome your comments! Thanks for making this available.

E*n ding zou ik toch willen zeggen: in België leven 6 miljoen Nederlandstaligen, 60 % van de bevolking, en dat wordt soms te vlug vergeten. Die mensen, Vlaanderen dus, willen gerust meer samenwerken met Nederland. Samen staan we sterker in Europa, om onze taal te verdedigen. Dit is geen agressieve houding, maar bittere noodzaak. In de voorbije eeuwen is het Frans steeds verder naar het noorden opgerukt (en dit gaat nog door). Enkel de kennis van andere talen, kan tot wederzijds respect leiden. Daarom : nogmaals proficiat met uw initiatief.

You wrote... The mandatory questions first: I am female, 27 yrs. old. My education level is German "Fachabitur", that means that I can study at Universities of Applied Science, but not regular Universities. I plan on studying computer science next year. I enjoyed the course, and would like to see more of it. Sadly, after the first few pages, there are no grammar and word lists any more, so learning is harder then, and sometimes things just remain obscure. I have also noticed some broken links. The last few pages are only available via the list at the bottom, the in-text links are broken. Also, on the grammar and wordlist pages, the spoken language links for some of the words that have already been explained on a previous page, are broken on the subsequent ones. I like to go to the Netherlands for the holidays. I noticed that very many Dutch people speak German well, and nearly all of them speak English very well. But I also oftenly made the experience, that Dutch people don't *like* to speak German... And, for obvious reasons, there is still a lot of prejudice against Germans. So I want to learn to speak Dutch, to understand the country and its people better, and perhaps, to take away some prejudice... And of course, I like learning languages, no matter whether artificial (like C++) or natural (like Dutch). Keep up the good work! Ela.
